Wikus Engelbrecht - RSA - Tango Workshops - Chacarera

Wikus began dancing Tango in early 2011 in Cape Town, an instant enthusiast; he soon moved over to the United States where he studied directly under numerous maestros, Argentine and otherwise. During that period he gained extensive experience in hosting milongas, teaching and DJ-ing - living the 'dance every day' life of attending socials, workshops, festivals and marathons with dedicated consistency. Since 2017 he has mainly been teaching and organising around Tango back home in Cape Town - working towards growing the local dance community, building positive connections and collaborations.

Hannah Tam - RSA / Hong Kong - Tango Workshops

Hannah discovered Argentine tango in 2015, and it quickly became a lifelong passion. Beyond being a devoted dancer, she is an active organiser in the tango community, occasionally DJs, and teaches. She is also a member of Milonga de Conexión, a team of tango enthusiasts who create events and promote tango in Cape Town.

To her, tango is more than just a dance - it is a way of listening with one’s body, a practice of presence that feels like meditation in motion. Each dance opens a space where time slows down and the ordinary dissolves. The music becomes a map, the body a compass, and the embrace an intimate conversation beyond words.

Tango has taught her patience, sensitivity, and the art of attunement - to herself, to a partner, to the music, and to the moment. Over the years, it has become not only a form of expression but also a philosophy: to move through life with trust, awareness, grace, and connection.

Monja Boonzaier - RSA - Feldenkrais Technique for Tango

Dance with More Connection & Less Tension: A Feldenkrais Approach

Description: Ever feel tense, stiff, or in pain while dancing, making it hard to truly connect with your partner or the music? This class introduces the Feldenkrais Method—a powerful way to improve your dance through mindful movement exploration.

We'll use gentle, structured lessons based on movements related to tango to calm your nervous system. When your system is calmer, you can feel more grounded in your walk and achieve a softer, more responsive embrace—the foundation of every great dance. This deeper connection to yourself is the secret to a more sensitive connection with your partner, allowing for effortless adaptation and creating more space for musical interpretation.

Leave with practical tools to make your dancing feel easier, more fluid, and deeply connected.
